Become an ETHS Student Athletic Trainer! Contact Khaliah Elliston for future registration deadlines/meetings.
Our student athletic trainers (SATs) assist the certified athletic trainers with day-to-day operations in the Athletic Training Room while learning & practicing valuable skills such as: taping, first aid, sports coverage, and rehabilitation exercise instruction. Athletic Training is recognized as a sport at ETHS, so all students are eligible to receive awards and recognition much like other sports programs do. However, our expectations are just as high, as we ensure all of our students are held to the highest standard of academics & professionalism.

How to Join
In order to become a part of our team, a student must complete the process of registering for a sport at ETHS. After completing the steps to do that, students will be contacted to attend one of our SAT meetings at the beginning of each new athletic season to go over general expectations & policies. They will be provided with a couple of documents that we will review with them & ask that they are reviewed with their parents/legal guardians. Once everything is turned in, they are officially a Student Athletic Trainer!

Opportunities within Athletic Training
We are afforded the luxury to provide every Student Athletic Trainer with the opportunity to shadow any one of our physical therapists (PTs) at our neighboring Athletico facilities. There they will gain more insight into the world of physical therapy, learn a great deal on the daily routine of a PT, and understand the education needed to pursue a career in PT.

Team Philosophy
We are dedicated not only to ensure our students set themselves up for career success, but also to invest in who our students are as people. As staff, we hold great pride in witnessing the evolution of our Student Athletic Trainers from the moment they first step foot in the athletic training room to the moment they walk in their graduation ceremony. Athletic Training is a family where ALL students can feel welcome. Work ethic is our #1 value, but we also leave room to care for one another & have some fun.

Work with our Athletic Programs
A Student Athletic Trainer will develop the skillset needed to be the "eyes and ears" of the certified staff, and will learn how to work with all of our athletic programs in providing coverage during games & assistance during practice to keep them healthy! Every student of ours is afforded to opportunity to apply the skills they learn with us to our student-athletes. Our students regularly help tape our athletes, help administer first-aid, & help set-up practices/games to ensure athletes have all they need to perform their best!
